Study Trip To Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia 22 October 2011

On Saturday 22nd October 2011, Da Vinci Ampang organised a study field trip to the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia (IAMM) , one of Southeast Asia’s largest museum of Islamic art which are visited by tourists all around the world.

There were briefing about the museum and the artefacts by Cik Nizreen, a guided tour to the various galleries, quizzes, ceramic art tile painting competition and goodie bags for the participants. A total of 33 students, parents and teachers participated in the study trip.

Participants viewed artefacts from different part of the world at the permanent galleries (the India Gallery, China Gallery and Malay World Gallery). The three galleries serve as representations of the diversity of peoples and the multi-cultural heritage of Malaysia. There was also an Architecture Gallery, Manuscripts Gallery, Ottoman Room, Ceramics & Glass Gallery, Metalwork Gallery, Woodwork Gallery, Arms & Armour Gallery, Jewellery Gallery, and Textiles Gallery. Participants also had the opportunity to visit a special gallery, a tribute to Australia’s ‘Afghan’ cameleers’.
